Tuesday was a wacky day. Tricia was supposed to fly in around 11AM, so I worked from the house. Unfortunately there were severe weather problems in Dallas, causing DFW airport to close and American Airlines decided to cancel the rest of its DFW traffic for the rest of the day even though other airlines resumed Dallas service around 5 or 6PM. She was rerouted to Wichita Falls, TX for five hours or so and then finally made it to Dallas a bit after 5. She was told that she would be unable to get to Austin until late Wednesday.
By that time though, I was already on the way to Dallas. Duc, a Dallas dancer that lives near DFW, picked her up from the airport and took her to dinner. I arrived at Duc's a bit later to get her and start the long drive home. It had taken me over four hours to get there in heavy traffic and terrible weather. I got to see Bryan, Kassi, and Duc. It was good to see them but there was little time to socialize.
Tricia and I started south, but stopped a bit south of Fort Worth for food. It was at a Waffle House. While there, I played some blues on the jukebox and we danced while waiting for the food. The song was BB King, The Thrill is Gone .
We stayed in Hillsboro and finished the drive to Austin in the morning. At 9AM, Tricia finally arrived in Austin for her 3 month work visit. Her luggage did not arrive at the house until that night.
