I will post many of my playlists here. I am often asked where to get some of the songs I play. Some are available through iTunes, some through Amazon, and some through eMusic. My number one recommendation is to try eMusic first. They have a lot of smaller artists and labels and quite a bit of non-mainstream music, like blues and swing. Try eMusic, you'll like it. And it costs a lot less than the others if you are a music lover.
Kick Butt Blues - Feb 27, 2009
Kick Butt Blues on 2009-02-27 at 10-11 and 12-1:30
It was a really good night at Kick Butt Blues. We had a good crowd. It was a nice mix of regulars, a few new people, and a couple of out-of-towners. I played opposite Bill Borgida in his first KBB DJ experience.
I focused on new music this week. Over the last month or so, I have added a bit of music to my collection. I decided to primarily DJ the new stuff. Unfortunately, there were a couple of songs that sounded great on headphones but did not do well in the larger space. There were also a couple of songs that I realized would be harder for less experienced dancers to hear the rhythm. Overall though, I think the sets went pretty well.
As usual, most of the songs can be previewed through Amazon or iTunes if you want to check them out. Many are also available through eMusic.
